Position Summary

The AVP of Benefits Sales works to support the SVP of Benefit Sales by managing the Benefit Sales Consultants for growth & accountability requirements. The AVP of Benefit Sales will report to the SVP of Benefit Sales. The AVP of Benefit Sales will be managing operational tasks, objectives and milestones. The AVP of Benefit Sales will drive initiatives that foster revenue growth. The AVP of Benefit Sales will also hold BSC's accountable for systems & processes. The AVP of Benefit Sales will train the BSC's on SOP's for Ben Sales ensuring continuity, consistency and measurability of success levers. The AVP of Benefit Sales is the Benefits expert for all sales region and is required to maintain an active Group Life & Health Insurance License with their residential state. The AVP of Benefit Sales will also require some travel from time to time outside of their home state.

- Benefits / Market Trends

- Open Market Offerings & carriers (for comparison purposes) o Medical Benefits o Ancillary Benefits o Voluntary Benefits - Benefit Implementation Rules & Timelines

- Contribution Modeling - Underwriting Rules & Guidelines

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of insurance experience preferred
  • Effective Presentation Skills
  • Excellent Communicator, both verbal and written, with internal departments and external clients
  • Effective Time Management skills
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Be self-driven / motivated
  • The ability to- Prioritize & complete multiple tasks while delivering successful results (wins)- Articulate and impart his/her knowledge within an assigned sales region- Develop strong working relationships

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's level degree required
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years experience in field
  • Active Broker's Group Life & Health License required
