Position Summary
The Benefits Specialist is responsible for managing and administering employee benefits programs, including health insurance, ancillary benefits, retirement plans, and other company-provided benefits. This role involves ensuring compliance with regulations, providing excellent customer service to employees, and continuously improving benefits offerings to attract and retain top talent.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, flexible spending plan, retirement plans, etc.).
- Serve as the primary contact for employees regarding benefits inquiries, claims resolution, and plan changes.
- Ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations, including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ACA, and HIPAA.
- Liaise with benefits providers and vendors to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Process the annual benefits enrollment, including communication and education to employees, as well as system updates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee benefits records in HRIS and other systems.
- Prepare and analyze reports related to benefits costs, participation, and trends.
- Develop and deliver benefits education programs and materials to employees.
- Regular attendance at the assigned worksite location is an essential function of the position.
- Build, maintain and promote relationships with team members, peers across disciplines, and all other
- company team members ensuring effective coordination of communications and services affecting employees.
- Attend webinars and training to stay up to date on best practices and provide key points to the team.
- Complete projects and other duties as assigned by supervisor.

- Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Proficient with Microsoft office products
