Position Summary

The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of company finance, including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate will have experience managing local and federal grants, as well as maintaining relationships with banking institutions for financing purposes. Fluency in both Spanish and English is required for effective communication with diverse shareholders.

Essencial Duties and Responsabilities

  • Financial Management:
    • Oversee the company's financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, and reporting.
    • Manage financial planning and forecasting to ensure financial health and profitability.
    • Supervise the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • QuickBooks and Accounting:
    • Utilize QuickBooks for financial tracking, invoicing, and reporting.
    • Ensure accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial record-keeping.
  • Grants Management:
    • Manage and oversee local and federal grants, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
    • Prepare grant applications and reports, ensuring the accurate and timely submission of all required documentation.
  • Banking and Financing Relations:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with banking institutions and financial partners.
    • Negotiate financing terms, secure funding, and manage cash flow.
  • Strategic Financial Planning:
    • Lead the development of financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives.
    • Provide leadership in strategic decision-making based on financial insights and data.
  • Team Collaboration and Leadership:
    • Work closely with the executive team to provide financial insight for decision-making and business growth.
    • Supervise and mentor financial team members to ensure effective financial management.
  • Bilingual Communication:
    • Effectively communicate in both Spanish and English with internal and external shareholders.
    • Prepare financial reports and communicate financial information to a diverse audience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong background in QuickBooks and general accounting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration and reporting.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving and financial management.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience in financial management, accounting, and overseeing company finances.
  • Experience managing local and federal grants and familiarity with grant reporting requirements.
  • Experience in strategic financial planning and analysis.
  • Established relationships with banking and financial institutions.
  • CPA or equivalent certifications preferred but not required.
  • Fluency in Spanish and English (written and verbal) is required.
