Position Summary

The SVP of Benefits will be responsible for overseeing the successful execution of Vensure's Open Enrollment process, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and according to specified milestones. This role will provide leadership and coordination across multiple departments, ensuring that the process runs smoothly from planning through execution. The SVP of Benefits will also create and enforce a framework of accountability for department heads, ensuring that key deadlines and targets are met, while mitigating risks and addressing roadblocks to success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Calendar Management:

  • Own the creation, maintenance, and modification of a detailed multi-month Open Enrollment calendar.
  • Ensure all milestones and deadlines are clearly outlined and adjusted as necessary based on evolving external factors (e.g., carrier rates, compliance requirements).
  • Ensure all interdepartmental dependencies are clearly identified and managed to keep the timeline on track.

Cross-Departmental Coordination:

  • Oversee the entire Open Enrollment process, ensuring alignment and timely execution across Sys Ops, Ben Ops, and CR departments.
  • Serve as the main point of contact and decision-maker for all OE-related tasks.
  • Facilitate regular status meetings with department heads to monitor progress and address potential roadblocks.
  • Work proactively with department heads to remove bottlenecks, allocate resources, and ensure that key tasks are completed on time.

Accountability & Performance Management:

  • Establish clear expectations and regular check-ins with department heads to track progress and resolve issues promptly.
  • Use relationship-building skills and influence to ensure departmental alignment, even in the absence of direct authority.
  • In cases where departments fall behind or face challenges, escalate issues to senior leadership and ensure necessary interventions or resources are provided.

Communication & Reporting:

  • Maintain transparent communication with senior leadership, providing timely updates on the status of OE.
  • Provide clear reports on progress, challenges, and any adjustments made to the schedule.
  • Act as a central hub for communication between departments and leadership to ensure all teams are aligned and informed.

Escalation & Issue Resolution:

  • Develop and implement an escalation protocol for missed deadlines, resource constraints, or performance issues.
  • Ensure that any recurring or high-priority issues are escalated appropriately to leadership for resolution.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead teams, influence without direct authority, and hold individuals accountable across departments.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience managing multi-phase, cross-departmental projects.
  • Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to facilitate and mediate discussions between diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify bottlenecks, anticipate roadblocks, and implement creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of Benefits & Open Enrollment: Familiarity with the Open Enrollment process, system operations, and benefits administration is highly preferred.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project management, operations, or leadership roles, with a strong focus on cross-functional team management and high-stakes, time-sensitive initiatives.
