Position Summary
Works in conjunction with BCaBA/BCBA the implementation of Applied Behavior Analysis intervention programs in family homes. Behavior Assistants provide one-on-one activities related to the delivery of Behavior analysis services. Activities include but are not limited to monitoring of behavior support plan, implementation of behavioral procedures for acquisition of replacement skills and reduction of problematic behaviors. data collection and assist the BCaBA/BCBA in training caregivers. It is the responsibility of the Behavior Assistant to work with caregivers to fully implement strategies within client plans and achieve desired outcomes. Specific types of support include assisting in restructuring the environments and activities to best support individuals' behavior, teaching skills that allow the individual to communicate his or her needs and function more effectively, working with caregivers to manage consequences for the individual's behavior to maximize reinforcement for positive behavior under the supervision of the behavior analyst.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to and support our Policy and Procedures
- Communicate openly with BCaBA/BCBA on concerns affecting delivery of services, availability and time limits for accepting clients and any other concerns requiring attention.
- Review and learn Behavior Support plans and any other materials provided and required for the implementation of the Behavior Support plan.
- Complete daily service log reporting activities of session.
- Complete all acquisition goals and collect data on them
- Implement de-escalation strategies as necessary and collect data on behaviors targeted for reduction.
- Support the family and other caregivers in implementing the Behavior Support Plan.
- Assist the Behavior Analyst in developing reports and conducting assessments as needed
- Participate in meetings by the Behavior Analyst as needed
- Submit paperwork to Behavior Analyst/supervisor for review.
- Ensure all safety practices are observed; quality assurance standards are met, and infection control practices are maintained regarding client participation and the bench assignments of your program
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to lift fifty (50) pounds
- Extended standing and lifting may be required
- Must possess a valid state Florida Driver's License
- Must not have been charged with a felony within the past ten ClO) Years
- Must pass a drug screening
- Completion of probationary period with Orientation
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- One year experience with children with Autism prefals
- Completion of 20-hour BA certification annually
- RBT Certificate
