Position Summary
We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Per Diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team. Under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA will assist in the implementation of treatment plans designed to help residents improve their ability to perform daily activities and maintain independence.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Carry out occupational therapy treatment plans as developed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Guide residents through therapeutic activities to improve motor skills, coordination, and daily living functions.
- Observe and document resident progress and communicate updates to the Occupational Therapist.
- Accurately record treatments and resident responses in the electronic medical record system.
- Support the interdisciplinary care team in developing effective rehabilitation strategies.
- Ensure resident safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
- Adhere to facility protocols, professional standards, and regulatory requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work per diem hours, including weekends and holidays as needed
Education & Experience
- Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) in the state of California.
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
- CPR certification (BLS) required.
- Experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting preferred.
