Position Summary
The Paralegal will play a key role in supporting the development and delivery of the legal tech product, and helps to deliver accurate, up to date information to customers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Respond to customer legal queries in a clear, professional, and timely manner based on SLA requirements.
- Develop and maintain legal content, including templates, policies, how-to guides, checklists, FAQs, articles, etc., tailored to employment and labor law for HR professionals.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of legal content and data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity.
- Monitor, track, and report on changes to federal, state, and local employment and labor laws.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, to incorporate legal insights into the platform.
- Support legal research, documentation, and process improvements to enhance product reliability and customer trust.
- Mentor other paralegals to ensure high-quality work and team collaboration
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Understanding of legal concepts, court systems, and legal documentation.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations applicable to the organization or practice area.
- Proficiency in using legal databases.
- Understanding professional standards and confidentiality requirements in legal practices.
- Ability to conduct thorough legal research and analyze case law, statutes, and regulations.
- Strong writing skills for drafting legal documents, correspondence and reports.
- Ability to communicate effectively across multiple departments.
- Skilled in managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities efficiently.
- High level of accuracy in reviewing and preparing legal documents.
- Capable of functioning autonomously and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Flexibility in managing shifting deadlines and legal requirements.
- Perform effectively in fast-paced environments with competing demands.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field or equivalent combination of experience, skills, education (including other relevant non-traditional degree programs, certifications, or job training programs).
- At least five years' experience as a paralegal, with at least 3 years focused on employment and labor law.
- Solid understanding of U.S. employment laws and regulatory requirements (e.g. FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC Guidelines) along with multi-state compliance.
- Experience translating complex legal concepts into user-friendly language and formats.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and demonstrated ability to learn other applications as needed.
- Familiarity with legal technology or compliance platforms products is a plus.
- Experience working with or advising HR or compliance teams.
