Position Summary
We're seeking a Director of Asset Management to lead loan and portfolio performance across RRA's commercial real estate credit platform. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing transitional and bridge loans — from proactive borrower engagement and risk management to workout and REO resolution.
The ideal candidate is decisive under pressure, fluent in complex loan structures, and thrives in environments where speed, judgment, and precision matter.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Within the first 12 months, success in this role will look like:
- Delivering real-time visibility into portfolio performance, risks, and resolutions across all active and non-performing loans.
- Leading successful restructures, workouts, or REO sales that preserve or enhance investor value.
- Strengthening borrower relationships and servicing coordination, ensuring compliance and timely execution.
- Partnering cross-functionally with legal, servicing, accounting, and investment teams to streamline decision-making and enhance portfolio returns.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of commercial bridge and structured loans, identifying early risk indicators and implementing corrective actions.
- Direct workout strategies for underperforming or defaulted assets, including restructures, deed-in-lieu, foreclosure, and REO management.
- Coordinate with external counsel, receivers, property managers, and brokers to maximize recovery.
- Drive reporting accuracy and portfolio insights through KPI tracking, cash flow analysis, and performance dashboards.
- Provide actionable feedback loops to credit, underwriting, and investment teams to strengthen new loan origination discipline.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of bridge lending, CRE loan documentation, and credit performance metrics.
- Desire to work on-site in Phoenix, AZ. and contribute to a high-performance, entrepreneurial culture.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, or related field (MBA or CFA a plus).
- 8+ years in commercial real estate asset management on the credit side, ideally with a lender, debt fund, or special servicer.
- Proven experience handling loan restructures, defaults, and REO processes.
- Advanced Excel and portfolio analysis skills; Power BI and Argus experience preferred.
