Position Summary

Established and growing Miami-based General Contracting firm is seeking for immediate hire a highly experienced Commercial Superintendent to join our team of professionals. The Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field operations of their project as related to construction implementation and complete project management. The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent in high-end commercial construction projects with an emphasis on Restaurant/Retail. Candidate must be organized, detail-oriented, and driven. They will establish priorities with their project team and coordinate with subcontractors to deliver their project on time and to plan. We are offering a competitive salary commensurate with experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • To provide on-site coordination for all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, material and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and that work is proceeding on schedule as well as within budget.
  • Superintendent shall be responsible for scheduling, inspections, quality control, and job site safety.
  • Schedule subcontractors, consultants, and vendors in critical path to ensure timely completion.
  • Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed.
  • Communicate with project team regarding ASI's, RFI's, and Material Submittals.
  • Ensure that subcontractor is fully executing and complying with contracted scope of work.
  • Coordinate required inspections with local jurisdictions.
  • Identify subcontractor non-compliance with safety, health, and environmental quality standards.
  • Identify conflicts in construction progress and communicate them to project team for resolution.
  • Maintain daily log (written) of activities on the job site.
  • Ensure subcontractor has corrected all deficiencies identified by project team.
  • Actively walk project sites daily to monitor activities and assist in future planning.
  • Preside over weekly subcontractor meetings to coordinate the work.
  • Issue notices of non-compliance to subcontractors in regard to quality of work or scheduling.
  • Ensure that the job site is always kept in a clean and organized manner.
  • Perform job progress and completion punch list identification and completion.

 Education & Experience

  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience as a Superintendent.
  • Some educational classes, combined with the qualifying experience could substitute for a bachelor's degree.
  • Experience in managing sub-contractors, suppliers, and interfacing with Project Managers and Management.
