Position Summary

This position is a component of the Electrical and Instrumentation Division of the company and reports directly to the Crew Foreman. Incumbent will provide a full range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in a construction environment. Continually participate in ongoing efforts to enhance customer satisfaction, company profit and personal job mastery. All jobs shall be conducted in a safe, efficient, and professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Define and oversee project scope and deliverables while managing the constraints.
  • Create clear and attainable project objectives and directly oversee project quality.
  • Plan, execute, and finalize projects according to contractual agreements and within budget.
  • Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones.
  • Ensure the implementation, communication, and endorsement of the health and safety policy.
  • Inspect and review projects to monitor compliance with building and safety codes, and other applicable regulations.
  • Always demonstrate a high personal example of health and safety standards in all places.
  • Be familiar with the provisions of the OSHA and MSHA Health and Safety Acts, federal and state regulations as they apply to work areas under your control.
  • Mentor Apprentices from beginning to end of assignment to ensure quality work and facilitate learning.
  • Use appropriate hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to properly complete a job.
  • Install, connect, test, and maintain electrical systems.
  • Troubleshoot electrical motors, motor controls, VFDs, and motor starters/contactors.
  • Follow basic wiring diagrams for troubleshooting and installation purposes.
  • Learn and apply basic automation programming concepts as required.
  • Service and maintain basic air compressor systems, air dryer systems, and associated electrical systems.
  • Conduct jobs in accordance with relevant codes and site-specific procedures while following applicable safety procedures.
  • Perform any other duties or assignments as directed by the company Management

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Knowledge of both basic and advanced electrical systems, including new installations, transformers, and automated control systems.
  • Basic knowledge of compressed air systems and mechanical processes.
  • Prior oil and gas experience highly recommended.
  • Valid Driver's License with safe driving record.
  • Able to communicate effectively (reading, writing, speaking) in the English Language.

  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Able to provide your own hand tools.
  • Able to read blueprints.

  • Competent documentation skills
  • Able to work in both commercial and industrial environments.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma/GED or higher level; Electrical schooling preferred.
  • Four (4) years electrical experience in a construction environment.
  • Must be a licensed Journeyman in the state of North Dakota.
