Assembly Technician I - Windsor, CO

Position Summary

Perform basic mechanical assembly and fabrication of products according to standard specifications and instructions in a shop environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Comply with all work safety procedures, company policies, and OSHA rules
  • Custom fabrication of industrial control panels, junction boxes, and solar power skids
  • Metal fabrication including cutting, drilling, taping, and forming enclosures, brackets, and panels
  • Fiberglass enclosure modification
  • Handling and mounting delicate electronic components
  • Level I basic electrical wiring
  • Assembly and fabrication of mechanical and pipe assemblies
  • Compare actual materials used to Bill of Materials records for accuracy
  • Keep accurate records for time tracking, inventory, and quality
  • Follow written and verbal instructions
  • Package and prepare projects for shipment
  • Perform housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard free
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude, physical strength, and dexterity
  • Proficient in using both hand and power tools
  • Ability to read and understand production blueprints, diagrams, and electrical schematics
  • Physical stamina: able to stand for long periods and lift, push, or pull up to 60 lb
  • Color discrimination to ensure proper wiring
  • Strong teamwork and verbal/written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Excel)
  • Ability to speak, write, and read English

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of one year of manufacturing or production experience
  • Forklift operator certification or demonstrated ability to operate a forklift (preferred)
